Amazon Senior Supply Chain Manager, Amazon Business Operations, JP Ops Strategy and Planning in Tokyo, Japan

The Senior Supply Chain Manager will own AB Operations’ Strategy and Planning for Japan (JP). They will be responsible for embedding B2B fulfillment requirements into Amazon’s JP fulfillment infrastructure. They will achieve this by developing robust, high confidence long-term strategic plans for new capabilities and fulfillment capacity required to serve B2B customer in JP. They will own aligning these requirements with leadership in JP across Amazon’s parcel network (Sort, Non-Sort, Vendor Fulfillment, Direct Fulfillment, Storage nodes, Sort Centers, Last Mile) and Heavy Bulky network (Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) Fulfillment Centers, AMXL Sort Centers and AMXL Delivery Stations). They will lead with Customer Obsession to understand B2B customers’ unique requirements, Think Big to design the world’s most efficient B2B ecommerce fulfillment network, and Deep Dive and financial acumen to develop detailed, high fidelity long-term Operations Strategy for JP. They will own Strategy and Planning to launch and scale a Pallet fulfillment network within Amazon’s JP fulfillment network, while driving continuous cost and delivery speed improvement for the parcel fulfillment networks.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own translating B2B customers’ fulfillment requirements into fulfillment network requirements for JP B2B customers and embed them into Amazon JP’s long-term fulfillment network development plans

  • Partner with Sort Center and AMXL orgs to align, launch and scale a pallet fulfillment (or equivalent) operation in JP.

  • Own aligning and embedding B2B’s long-term, mid-term, and short-term volume planning into JP volume planning processes across all Fulfillment Center, Sort Center, and Last Mile partner operations across parcel and heavy bulky networks

  • Own optimizing delivery speed, cost, ship distance, and units per box for B2B fulfillment in JP

  • Manage full lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations

  • Use strong analytical and quantitative skills; Ability to use SQL and reporting platforms to produce clear data that allows cross-functional stakeholders to make exceptional business decisions that improve customer experience.

  • Roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Business level of English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • 5+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

  • Professional Working Proficiency in Japanese language

  • Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
