The Program Manager, Business Operation, JP B2B Payments is responsible for helping drive operational excellence within payments. This role will support B2B Payments internal and external partners to push excellence and a world class customer experience for mutual customers globally. This role will also partner with internal customers with a goal of identifying gaps in customer experience, potential escalation drivers, and downstream impacts to other internal teams such as Customer Service, Sales are rationalized before launch.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. The candidate must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Amazon's varied payment offerings as well as the behavior of Amazon's internal systems. The candidate will be analytical in their decision making, with a demonstrated ability to drive issues to completion. Experience in the banking or payments industry is preferred. Successful candidate are intellectually curious, creative and comfortable operating in ambiguity — a strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will work directly with our cross-functional team (engineering, product, marketing, customer service, operations, etc), to execute global projects from inception to launch. This role requires the ability to work across different time zones and use analytical rigor to identify and prioritize user pain points.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage B2B Payments cross-functional operational efforts, working with engineering, product, customer service, policy, training and other operational teams to ensure smooth rollout of new B2B payments product features

  • Facilitate discussion and coordination among operational stakeholders across the company in order to manage all existing resources in the most effective way

  • Communicate prioritization and trade-off operational decisions to the broader cross-functional team to drive consensus, and ensure that those decisions are properly implemented

  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and customer service teams to develop self-help and educational “how to” content that can be shared with customers across multiple channels

  • Provide overall stakeholder management and program progress reporting on a regular basis

  • Partner with the different operational teams to provide support and resources during and after projects

  • Facilitate relationships between teams, move initiatives forward, find resources, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress

  • Hold people accountable when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships in difficult situations

  • Predict roadblocks and obstacles, establishing meetings or integration points between teams

  • Prioritize competing needs with good reasoning and creative solutions

  • Maintain and refine programs and initiatives, establishing best practices, next steps, and outcomes

  • Contribute to program processes, tracking tools, and general project and program managing best practices, and initiate improvements where needed in order to scale effectively as the organization grows

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Business Level in Japanese and English

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
