Eaton Corporation Software Specialist - Flight Control Actuation in Hadapsar, India

Job Summary :

• This position is responsible for leadership, execution, and professional direction of the Aerospace FMC EMA technology software development, in support of the Hydraulic and EMA strategy. Candidate will support the research and investigation of new software solutions for flight control actuation embedded products. Perform any or all aspects of the DO-178C life cycle including planning, requirements, design, code, and verification. Develop or update software using model based or contemporary architectures. This position involves developing and updating software equipment. Collaborate cross-functionally and support Software, Controls, Motor and Mechanical team members, platform systems engineers, Chief Engineers, and other stakeholders across the Aerospace organization. This individual will be responsible for short and long-range planning, ownership, and execution of technical engineering assignments of considerable responsibility and complexity that are aligned with the business objectives. This individual will be responsible for generating intellectual property by providing technical solutions that will meet customer critical to quality (CTQs) and ensure Eaton has a competitive advantage and robust commercial and technical solution. The position will also be responsible for coordination among multiple functions including Centers of Excellence, program management, product teams, SCM and other.

• Successful candidate will possess a broad strategic vision of the division’s future products and services and provide consultation in the chosen area of expertise. This individual will be involved in a wide variety and large number of projects, conduct feasibility studies ensuring that objectives are met and are within budget. He/She will also manage external supplier relationships, and effectively work with all business functions to identify issues, create solutions, and drive those solutions to completion. The Specialist is expected to have a sphere of influence at the Divisional level, and present technical information and project status to the EIIC Leadership and Group CTO or Director level of management. They are recognized and sought out for proficiency in advanced problem solving techniques, driving skill development, and mentoring engineers in technical specialty.

• Successful candidate will be able to independently lead Project teams as the technical expert in the area of EMA software and controls. This individual will be the primary focal point for internal and external customers for Engineering development projects for Internal Research and Development, Core Product Development, and customer sponsored Research and Technology or Technology Development projects within the Aerospace MEA team and EMA product domain.

• Participate in the strategic planning process for the division; create and maintain strategic product and technology roadmaps and lead innovations processes supporting those plans.

• Assure that product and system designs are competitive on a global basis with respect to cost performance, quality, and reliability. Maintain visibility to and relationships with customers’ technical teams.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / Electrical/Computer Science Engineering.

  • Desired: PhD / Master’s Degree in Electronics / Electrical/Computer Science Engineering.

  • Minimum 12+ Years of relevant experience with multinational engineering organization. Out of those 12 years of related experience, at least 5 years of experience with full life cycle development of embedded software for Aerospace products.

  • Knowledge of software considerations in airborne systems and equipment qualification and certification (ex. DO-178C, DO-330, DO-331).

Skills:

• Experience modeling software architecture in terms of components and interfaces with emphasis on code re-usability and maintainability.

• Experience with various software development methodologies and tools (agile, iterative, waterfall, etc.).

• Experience with processes and tools for requirements management, change and configuration management.

• Experience with software test methodologies and tools and development of test plans for embedded systems.

• Experience integrating and validating performance of electro-mechanical systems, motor control, control of switched mode power electronics applications

• Experience of Matlab/Simulink for algorithm definition and end-to-end software engineering, Model Based Design and autocoding.

• Software environment creation (harness, hardware interfaces, user interface).

• Embedded C/C++, Bootloader, Schedular based software development skills with embedded MCUs.

• Hardware/software debugging skills.

• Leading product & technology development with associated test planning, qualification testing procedures, carrying out the tests and reporting the results with analysis for conformance to standards and or design improvements

• Developing multi generation technology and product development plans

• Developing positive customer relations, participation in Technology events with customers

• Demonstrated ability to execute on a plan to develop a technology from concept (TRL2) to demonstration (TRL5/6)

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English with ability to clearly convey project status and timelines to senior leadership.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make presentations and work in group settings.
