Merrick & Company Electrical Facilities Designer II in Greenwood Village, Colorado

OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company, a nationally known multi-office and multi-discipline firm, is looking for an Electrical Facilities Designer. This position will be located in our Greenwood Village, CO; San Antonio, TX; Albuquerque, NM; Merritt Island, FL, Atlanta area, or Huntsville, AL offices. An agreed upon hybrid schedule, working from both home and office, is available to employees in good standing.

Successful candidates will be self-starting, motivated, innovative, articulate, self-disciplined, and confident in a demanding, exciting and fast-paced environment. This position requires a competent designer who will be responsible for all phases of engineering production and BIM for a variety of work ranging from programming through construction administration. This includes interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the design and production effort for one or more large or complex projects. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design electrical systems for facilities for Government and private clients. Provide design support of facility power distribution (<=600V), site power distribution (<=15kV), emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications (voice/data), fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and spe Provide design support for calculations, reports, and specifications. Provide construction documents from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and field notes. Working knowledge on electrical regulatory codes. Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality. Complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail while consistently meet deadlines andcompleting tasks as previously defined. Work as part of a team and to multitask on multiple projects. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Four (4) years of experience in facility electrical engineering design. Working knowledge of REVIT/AutoCAD. Experience generating floor plans, layouts, wiring diagrams, one-lines, rack elevations, etc. Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word. Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using electrical calculation tools such as lighting software (AGi32), Elum Tools, and power software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower. Experience with Department of Defense clients. PERKS
