Robert Half Staff Accountant in Camarillo, California

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Camarillo, California. In this role, you will primarily oversee the accounts receivable process, assist with month-end closing, and handle all inventory-related duties.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the accounts receivable process to ensure timely collection of monies owed and maintain positive relationships with customers and sales team.

• Assisting with the timely month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Performing daily and monthly bank account reconciliations.

• Collaborating with the accounting team and external CPAs during annual reviews.

• Regularly monitoring the AR aging report to identify potential payment issues and following up with past due customers to resolve outstanding balances.

• Maintaining daily cycle counts and analyzing any discrepancies.

• Participating in weekly reviews of obsolete and slow-moving inventory.

• Reviewing job orders for completion, ensuring all labor and inventory have been correctly posted.

• Utilizing skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and various accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP.

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in the Accounting department.

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Demonstrable ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Comfortable with maintaining the General Ledger.

• Capable of preparing Journal Entries.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Commitment to continuous professional development.

• Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
