FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is set at CeDAR, UCHealth's award winning treatment center for adults, including professionals, with substance use disorders. CeDAR, the Center for Dependency, Addiction, and Rehabilitation, is a division of UCHealth serving patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The main CeDAR campus located on the UCHealth Anschutz academic medical center campus in Aurora, CO and we operate a small outpatient clinic in Boulder as well. Summary:

This position will directly assist with all front office financial operations of CeDAR to include verification of patient benefits, administration of self-pay packages, addressing billing disputes, and additional registration and revenue cycle support as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with medical team, patients, families and insurance companies all pertinent information regarding authorizations and coverage options in cases where the benefits may not be sufficient.

  • Assists the patient in applying for any federal or state programs (e.g. Medicaid, drug assistance programs) as needed.

  • Solves problems independently and works cooperatively with other health system team members to make continuous adjustments to work flow. Seeks assistance for unusual or difficult situations and/or issues.

  • Monitors insurance status and updates benefits and authorizations as needed due to patient changes or insurance requirements.

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2 years of experience in health care related field.
